Female councelor should work in clinic and under supervision of the provincail coordinator and clinic manager.
she has to give consultation regarding maternity and contraceptive issue to clients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Treat all clients with respect.
Assisting a person to make a decision by helping to think through choices.
Offer to provide more information if required.
Ask if the client has thought about using family planning after the birth.
Reassure her about confidentiality and safety.
Offering a private place to speak â€“ reassure about confidentiality.
Being gentle and encouraging.
Consultation on emergency contraception.
Understanding and respecting the clientâ€™s rights
Earning the clientâ€™s trust
Understanding the benefits and limitations of all contraceptive methods.
Understand the cultural and emotional factors that affect a womanâ€™s (or a coupleâ€™s) decision to use a particular contraceptive method
1. Graduated from social science, literature or equivalent.
2. Counseling experience ( At least 2-3 years)
3. Good knowledge of written and spoken Dari, Pashto and English is desirable.
4. NGO experience â€“ Desirable
Skills and Abilities:
1. Organizational skills.
2. Effective communicator.
3. Sensitivity to the issues of womenâ€™s health and social needs.
4. Be able to work on own initiative to achieve results.
