Job Summary

PURPOSE OF POSITION
Carry out/ manage the STI clinic STI clinic that located in HTR regional hospital /Ghoriyan District /WHCC

Duties & Responsibilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan, organize, carry the STI clinic at chosen MoPH health facilities to reach out to people with low accessibility to health care (STI care) .
• Attention from 8:00 AM up to 4:00 PM.
• Carry out proper history taking, investigation, diagnosis and treatment as per WHO guidelines.
• Provide counseling over partner treatment and carry out regular follow up of both
• Create patient friendly atmosphere and reach out to the needy people
• Identify high risk men and women and adequate information towards protecting themselves against STI/HIV transmission
• Carry out training programs to the clinic staff on STI/HIV/AIDS, TB, Universal precaution and proper medical waste management
• Monitor/supervise/support and improve Universal Precaution and Waste management in the health facility
• Distribute IEC and condom for care seekers and for high risk people
• Carry out Health education sessions on STI/HIV/AIDS and TB for care seekers
• Identify peer educators in the field among different groups of community, train them and carry out community health education on STI/HIV/AIDS and TB through them.
• Identify peer educators among High risk people, train them regularly, and distribute IEC and condom through them to their groups. Motivate them towards increased health care seeking behavior among their group. Also bring about behavior change towards safe sex with 100% condom use, 100% not sharing needles etc. among them
• Identify places in the community requiring health education and STI care and carry out their needs.
• Follow proper strict registration of all activities and submit monthly reports.
• Support STI clinic MoPH regional hospital whenever necessary in providing STI care.
• Attend staff meetings and staff training program regularly in the STI clinic
• Participate in SHAPE training programs towards reduced HIV transmission as the.
• Treatment and follow up the STI/TB in the clinic for clients.
• Follow up the Counseling and testing of the clients.
• Carry out the health education session for clients and specially for high risk group
• Train the MCH clinics about the STI/HIV/AIDS.
• Monitoring the Health education.
• Make the referral system from MCH clinics to STI center for testing and consoling.
• Maintain WV policies at all levels of your job.
• Monitoring the waste management of hospital.
• Active participate in the training and advocacy sessions.
• Any other duties as delegated by supervisor.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1: Medical doctor.
2: Work experience at least 2 year in the hospital or clinic.
3: Very good communication with staff and clients.
4: Languages empowerment (Dari or Pashto)
5: flexibility for work.
6: Strong capacity building and facility skill.
7: Ability to take supervisor role of STI clinic.
8: Ability to work team environmental.
