Job Summary

WFP is currently undertaking the second round of its Female Internship Programme and is seeking to fill about 10 internship positions. We are interested in candidates who have a background/interest in any of the following areas: Project & Budget Management; Public Health & Nutrition; M&E, Survey Methodology/Statistics; Food Systems and Food Security; Supply Chain (Procurement, Transport, Food Logistics); Food Technology/Nutrition; Security Management; Public Relations & External Communications; Accounting/Finance; Survey; Information Technology (IT), Radio & Telecommunication Technology; Human Resources and Administration. All positions will be based at Kabul starting on 16 May for a period of 6 months.

Objective of the programme:
1.Enhance the educational experience recenlty graduated students through practical and guided hands-on exposure and involvement in WFP activities.

2.Provide recenlty graduated students with work experience which clearly augment their study and career plans.
3.Expose the intern to the working environment of a multilateral organization so they also gain a better understanding of UN through experince in WFP.

End Result:

Have become a fully functonal staff in the assigned unit.


Gained and increased self Awareness of how interpersonal values and beliefs affect professional relationships.

Respond to supervision appropriately and effectivly advocate for herself.

Marked improvement in writtne and oral English language skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

Proofread written documents, such as standard reports and correspondence, to contribute to the accuracy of written information developed by staff.


Provide a set of standard business support activities, where required, to contribute to the effective functioning of business operations.

Collect, sort and disseminate correspondene, report and other material.

Respond to simple routine queries with readily available support by senior staff.

Support the maintenance of office files, documents and records in accordance with established system and processes.

Undertake standard data entry tasks in accrodance with defined systems.

Assist in creating simple images or information using standardised templates, such as graphs or tables.

Must be able to work full time, Sunday through Thursday, from 16 May trough 15 November 2017.

Job Requirements


Currently enrolled and/or have attended University courses during the past 18 months.

No working experience is required, but relevant experience is higly desirable.
Good attention to details in order to identify data descrepancies

Good experince and ability with MS Office

Ability to work to deadlines and follow clear instructions.

Fluent in English
