PURPOSE:
The Field Cashier will perform pre-auditing of daily district office transactions in the ASI Finance office. Compliance of his/her duties will contribute to accountability and successful and timely payments in accordance with DAI policy and procedures.
The Field Cashier / Accountant perform the following functions but not limited to:
•Standardize a Time and Attendance Control System, including the preparation of an electronic template for Time Sheets to be used for recording the attendance and salaries of district office temporary consultants and grant-related cash for work recipients
•Regularly review above mentioned Time-Sheets submitted to assure the accuracy of the time reported.
•Review and audit field staff travel vouchers
•Distribute and clear operation and program advances to district office
•Prepare periodic reports to the Finance Manager on reconciliations as mentioned above.
•Assist the Procurement/Grant Offices during the distribution and payment of materials purchased for district grant and operations activities
•Perform unscheduled visits to the district offices and grant activities to verify accuracy of the attendance reported on above mentioned time sheets
•Prepare financial reports as required by the Finance Managers.
•Candidate must be able to freely travel in Khogiani and Sarkani districts and possibly Marawara, Khas Kunar, Sherzad and Pachier Agam in the future
•Other responsibilities assigned by the Finance Managers.
EDUCATION
•University degree or equivalent in related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
•Minimum of two to three years experience in an equivalent position. Experience working in a similar position for an NGO or an international organization is preferred. USAID funded project experience is a clear plus. Candidate must also have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. In addition, must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.
