Duties & Responsibilities:
Review and assess secondary geological information of Afghanistan and identify potential mineral prospects for further studying.
Plan and propose suitable methods for reconnaissance, prospection and exploration operations to further study the resources.
Conduct geological field activities to evaluate mineral prospects and select permissive areas for development.
Collection of rock samples i.e. sediment sampling, chips sampling, grab sampling, trench and pit sampling, and core sampling and other geo-scientific data at the field.
Preparation, labeling, description, photographing, and cataloguing of rock samples
Analyze and interpret geological, geochemical and geophysical information from primary and secondary data sources.
Prepare geological maps, cross-sectional diagrams, chart and reports using results of field and laboratory researches.
Developing geological models use different computer software
Assist in data interpretation and preparation of site work plans, spreadsheets, figures, and technical report in consultation with Core Drillers professionals
Any other task assign by line director
Job Requirement:
Bachelor/Master Degree in Geology
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in geological field works
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding about Afghanistan’s geology
Fluency in English, Pashto, Dari language, Russian language understanding would be an asset
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Corel Draw and ArcGIS
Good team player, quick decision maker, and self starter
Leadership skill to take over in the field
Strong analytical skill in order to analyze field data
Ability of writing technical reports from the field data
Ability to travel and live in remote areas for field works
Ability to conduct geological field works in difficult terrains and mountainous regions
Ability to use basic and specific geological instruments in the field work
