Purpose of the Position the Field Monitor will support the M&E Coordinator and NEI HQ in all data collection, analysis, and learning activities to help ensure accountability and efficiency for all programs.
He/she will provide technical field support to the M&E unit, within the M&E department.
The Field Monitor will work closely with Program teams to assess field conditions, support capacity building initiatives, and facilitate the collection of quality data under the supervision of the M&E Coordinator NEI HQ. The Field Monitor will report their findings directly to NEI HQ under strict confidentiality.
He/she may be assigned to focus on supporting one or more specific programs which will require traveling to the provinces as assigned by the M&E Coordinator and NEI HQ.
Additionally, he/she will work with other members of the team and monitor program expenses, indicators, implementation of processes, standard operating procedures and any other tasks given to him/her by the M&E Coordinator & NEI HQ as direct line Manager.
Support M&E Coordinator or NEI HQ in creating a framework and procedures for the monitoring and evaluation of project activities.
Support the M&E Coordinator or NEI HQ in defining and implementing the key project performance indicators (KPI) as well as monitoring them throughout the duration of the projects.
Draft tools and their revisions as well as data collection procedures under the supervision of the M&E Coordinator or NEI HQ (eg. logical framework, project performance tracking, indicators, data flow chart, M&E manuals).
Support the M&E Coordinator or NEI HQ in reviewing the performance of existing management information systems to help identify potential modifications or resources.
3. Data Management and Analysis
Suggest ways to facilitate data collection and the flow of data within Program field teams.
Identify strengths and weaknesses in existing data collection and management systems and propose solutions along with the M&E Coordinator or NEI HQ.
Conduct field visits to monitor implementation of NEI project activities including
NEI farmer training and input distribution
Monitoring and evaluation exercise for various initiatives in the region.
Prepare effective time schedules and plans for monitoring activities
Compiling M&E related data from field and prepare reports.
Assist in organizing field monitoring visits with relevant departments
Prepare timely reports based on monitoring indicators set by management and send to US-HQ.
Ensure compliance on performance and financial transparency within regions
Perform any other activity assigned by the supervisor.
Perform regular field visits to ensure the quality of data collected by Programs and to verify the accuracy of reported data.
Analyze changes and patterns indicator data and performance reports in order to support Program staff.
Support the M&E Coordinator or NEI HQ to ensure that donor, partner, and Senior Management data queries are addressed in an accurate and timely manner.
Support and participate in program and project evaluations
Minimum bachelor degree from Accredited Universities
Strong knowledge and ability to use computer software, such as MS office package (word, excel, power point)
Minimum 3-4 Years of experience field monitoring
Good interpersonal skills
Excellent in oral and written communication in English
Ability to meet deadline and allocate priorities
Good level of proficiency in Windows Excel and quantitative analysis
Ability to design M&E tools, surveys and evaluations
Demonstrated ability to train and build capacity of others
Strong interpersonal skills
