Duties & Responsibilities:



As part of an effort to create a world class mobile money transfer business, that caters to the unbanked, and is in support of getting the unbanked into financial inclusion, we are seeking a self motivated individual for the role of Finance Analyst. As a member of the team, your role will be analyze, report and identify recommendations based on the financial position of the company. In addition, you will be required to manage the agent commissions, agent float management and agent fraud reporting.

Responsibilities include:

• Works with management to provide decision support analysis
• Performs monthly variance analysis and project forecast
• Prepare monthly financial reports
• Responsible for monthly closing and statutory reporting for the business unit
• Implement project specific cost control methods to ensure profitability
• Perform variance analyses and forecasting for new opportunities
• Create reports to track budgets
• Review contractor and vendor invoices for accuracy
• Implement corporate procedures for financial control and administration
• Review contract terms for compliance with government regulations
• Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance with contract

General Accounting Function:
• General Ledger maintenance
• Account balance reconciliations for all balance sheet line items, including bank and subsidiary ledgers reconciliations
• Ensure that the integrity of the general ledger and all subsidiary ledgers is maintained at all times
• Prepare and upload journal entries and assist department head in the month-end and year-end close process
• Perform monthly overhead analysis
• Prepare monthly cash forecast/receipts report
• Prepare monthly invoices and collection of those invoices

Other:
• To ensure that all agent commissions are verified and paid within the first 5 business days of each month

• To ensure that all Roshan Shops have adequate float and cash on hand for salary disbursements

• To liaise with all departments within M-Paisa to identify needs and requirements from the software, and obtain the instruction from Vodafone

• To perform daily system checks and ensures there are no issues. System checks include but are not limited to: M-Paisa commissions payable, commissions receivable

• Build and execute processes and sign offs for all tasks and ensure that all required stakeholders give support

• Ensure that all M-Paisa business partners (agents, merchants etc) have valid contracts

• Identify need for process improvements which will support the team

• Develop, foster and maintain effective relationships with departments within Roshan

• Support all areas with regards to Pilot Programs

• To provide feedback to M-Paisa team on any issues and problems, so that they can be rectified in a timely manner

• To OWN M-Paisa in all ways

Job Requirement:


ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION
• University Degree in Finance and/or Accounting – Master degree an asset
• Demonstration of continuing education through courses and/or other mediums


EXPERIENCE

• Demonstrated ability to analyze, report and make recommendations based on numerical data
• Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and under pressure
• Ability to pay attention to details and take action as required in a timely manner
