Job Summary:

The Finance Manager has overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of company strategy and is expected to analyze figures and implement recommendations with the most profitable outcomes. Moreover, he/she is expected to lead a team through difficult periods including month end, year end and annual budgeting.
The main responsibility of Finance Manager is to ensure that the system is in place to support ICI and its subsidiary companies’ strategies and operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 To contribute to the strategic management of Aeroparcel by developing and maintaining strategies that encompass finance department.
 Form a close working relationship with the CEO of company, other Senior Executives and Non Executives.
 Advises the CEO and other key members of the leadership team on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, funding priorities, and policy matters.
 Maintains a continuous line of communication, keeping key stakeholders informed of critical issues.
 Collaborate with the Aeroparcel CEO, HR and Finance team and, Sister Companies’ to ensure that Finance systems, including policies and procedures are developed, continuously monitored, updated and are compliant with local laws, in line with Aeroparcel and local standards.
 Initiates, leads and recommends initiatives to improve Finance policies and procedures.
Effectively communicates and presents critical financial matters when needed.
 Contributes to the development of strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organization.
 Evaluates and advises on the financial impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.
 To have an overview of the activities and budgets for each department to ensure the procedures laid down in ICI financial policies are adhered.
 To develop the Management Information Systems used by ICI with an emphasis on effective financial control procedures.
 Monitor and control the quality and cost effectiveness of services provided by the department to ensure high standards and value for money.
 Maintain up to date records of departmental financial information.
 Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including business license renewal, Withholding Payments, Income Tax, Goods and Services Tax etc.
 Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate.
 Develops credibility for the finance department by providing timely and accurate analyses of budgets, financial reports and financial trends, in order to assist the CEO, the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
 Establishes finance operational strategies; critical measurements; determines productivity, and quality; design systems; accumulate resources; resolved problems; and implement change.
 Analyzes organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and systems enhancement.
 Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; and minimizing the impact of variances.
 Ensures that the financial procedures and systems meet the requirements of auditors, government agencies and other stakeholders.
 Advises from the financial perspective on any contracts or proposals into which the organization may enter
 Updates job knowledge by: remaining aware of new regulations.
 Provides technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline
 To liaise with the human resource department and Administration manager to ensure staffing level are maintained, recruiting effective as necessary, in line with the relevant policies and procedures.
 To effectively manage the performance of the team by carrying out progress reviews and ensuring objectives and key outputs are cascaded throughout the department.
 Oversee all payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner
 To ensure the accurate and timely preparation of management accounts, the effective operation and development of management systems for all accounting functions, particularly those relating to purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, cash and banking, nominal ledger and stock control.
 Continues to improve the budgeting process through education of department manager on financial issues impacting department budgets.
 To manage and oversee the preparation of all statutory returns and the management of company pension schemes.
 Responsible for the management and development of an effective and cohesive department.
 Maintain financial records for each project in a manner that facilitates management reports.
 Ensure that accurate and timely financial statements are prepared in accordance with contract agreements with financier.
 Provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of individual projects.
Evaluates the department's structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group, as well as, provides individuals with professional development and growth opportunities.
 Ensure that company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
 Promote and adhere to organization’s culture and values.
 To carry out any other tasks that will, from time to time be allocated by the Chief
 Executive on an ad hoc or continuing basis, commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post.

Job Requirement:

 Bachelor’s in Business Administration with specialization in Finance or qualified ACCA finalist with five years of relevant experience.
 Bachelor degree in Business Administration with focus on Finance.
 At least 5 years of proven experience in direct management, supervision of finance staff, budget preparation and financial forecasting, preparing and presenting financial and management accounts, reports and data.
 Experience of liaising with auditors, business advisers and board members.
 Certifications in Finance and Accounting is an advantage.
 Proven experience in Corporate Finance will lead role.
 Good working knowledge of current accounting software system.
 Knowledge of management systems for all accounting functions including purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, cash and banking, nominal ledger and stock.
 Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
 Ability to develop and implement financial plans.
 Ability to liaise with and manage relation with external organizations including statutory agencies, inland revenues, banks etc for official purposes
 Excellent time management and decision making skills.
 Excellent communication both written and verbal and Strong interpersonal skills.
 Proven report writing skills.
 Analytical ability and be a team leader.
