Job Summary:
Under the supervision of Chief Admin Officer) the incumbent will be responsible for the management of a group of Afghan News editors. Major responsibilities include:
• Maintain accurate and legible financial records including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets
• Prepare quarterly projections and reports for specified projects
• Complete pipeline reports
• Review and verify payroll
• Process national and international wire transfer
• Assist chief administration officer in preparing narrative and financial reports for donors
• Monitor procurement activities, to ensure compliance with financial policy
• Verify that purchase requests are with in budget limits
• Verify bids/quotes for major purchase
• Maintain records and receipts for all purchases
• Work with operations personnel to receive purchased items and schedule payments
• Support and supervise assigned subordinates
• Ensure weekly cash count is carried out by finance officer
• Ensure regular back up of all financial data is completed
• Adhere to rules and regulations of the organization
• Complete other related duties assigned

Job Requirement:
• Minimum 3 years experience in the relevant field at national and international organizations
• Bachelor’s degree or advanced certificates in accounting and finance is preferred
• Ability to operate the financial software (QuickBooks) is mandatory
• Strong proficiency in English, Pashto and Dari is required;
• Able to work late hours when required
• Capable of handling pressure and prioritizing activities to meet the deadlines;
• Having strong interpersonal skills
