Job Summary:
Under the supervision of Chief Admin Officer) the incumbent will be responsible for the management of a group of Afghan News editors.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of Chief Admin Officer) the incumbent will be responsible for the management of a group of Afghan News editors.
Major responsibilities include:
• Process all cash transactions and wire transfer payments of the specified project
• Process daily transaction, prepare vouchers and keep separate financial record of the project.
• Ensure the security measures of all project funds are maintained.
• Make recommendations to the Finance Manager regarding improvements to the cash safety and disbursement procedures.
• Ensure that project vendors are paid on time.
• Track advances of the project and record them in the sheet with all necessary information.
• Ensure that proper approval signatures are obtained and that both parties, Payer and Receiver, verify the cash amount of the transaction.
• Enter all transactions into the accounting system (QuickBooks); identify the proper account codes for each transaction.
• Ensure that the employee salary list is updated.
• Ensure that salary is disbursed to all employees on schedule.
• At the end of the payment period or last working day of a month collect all employees’ time sheets, check coding and approval signatories.
• File all salary information according to outlined filling procedures.
• Keep all salary related information strictly confidential.
• Calculate and distribute travel advances on return clearance.
• Coordinate with Inventory and Logistic Officer to ensure fixed assets lists are consistent and that a yearly inventory of assets is being performed.
• Maintain the appropriate documentation, receipts and customs declaration for all fixed assets purchased.
• Record inventory items into project tracking system.
• Ensure that all reporting requirements are met while implementing proper reporting procedures and maintaining quality.
Job Requirement:
• Bachelor’s degree or advanced certificates in accounting and finance is preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience in the relevant field at national and international organizations
• Ability to operate the financial software (QuickBooks) is mandatory
• Strong proficiency in English, Pashto and Dari is required
• Able to work late hours when required
• Capable of handling pressure and prioritizing activities to meet the deadlines
• Having team work spirit.
