Social and Educational services Organization (SESO) is an independent, non-profit organization that aims to empower Afghan society by offering social and educational services, especially to marginalized and under-represented populations.
Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Finance Officer is responsible for the day to day finance operations of the project and is responsible for all administrative and finance aspect of the project. The Finance Officer is responsible for the accounting, obligating and liquidating of funds in financial system and preparing weekly financial activity reports and submiting to the management and donor. The incumbent will also process monthly payroll as per the signed timesheets.
· Overall management of project finance activities;
· Maintain updated filling system and transactions in Kabul;
· Update and advise the management of financial status of the project;
· Direct and prepares financial analyses of operations for guidance of management;
· Amend and update the program budget when required;
· Prepare monthly and quarterly expense reports including ad hoc financial reports;
· Prepare and maintain cash liquidities/forecasting;
· Develop and maintain office filling systems;
· Support the Finance department and other departments with assigned work;
· Manage and update petty cash for daily expenses;
· Manage monthly payroll;
· Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor;
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics or related field is required;
· At least 3-5 years experience in field of Finance, accounting and budgeting with national or international organization is required;
· University degree in a related field (finance, business administration) required;
· Experience in financial reports and budgeting;
· Knowledge of the Afghanistan taxation system and procurement regulations;
· The candidates shall have worked in a similar capacity for Universities, governmental bodies, NGOs or international organizations;
· Excellent communication, problem solving and presentation skills;
· Committed to hard work and continual learning;
· A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
· The candidate must be fluent in both spoken and written English and Dari/Pashto;
