CNFA is hiring for several positions to work for the Farm Service Association of Afghanistan (FSCAA). The FSCAA is an ownerâ€™s group association created by the USAID-funded Afghanistan Farm Service Alliance (AFSA) program to drive the expansion and enhancement of wholesale/retail agricultural input supply stores called FSCs, which are being established throughout Afghanistan. The FSCAA has elected a Board of Directors and has mobilized task groups for marketing and advertising; new business development; output marketing; and extension and training. In addition, the association is working towards a franchise-type operation with collective inventory purchases to lower costs of inputs to farmers, association approved standards for inventories, an FSC marketing and advertising program, brand recognition, similar store layouts, and collective association bidding on input supply contracts. The FSCAA continues to develop as a source of technical assistance and training for FSC store owners/employees.

Duties & Responsibilities:
The Development Specialist will be responsible for coordinating activities to build the capacity of the FSCAA â€“ with an aim toward long-term sustainability of the FSCAA. The Development Specialist will ensure that the FSCAA is capable of providing critical services to its store members. These services include training and technical assistance, business development (i.e. facilitating business deals) and marketing and advertising. Coordinate with the AFSA program to identify and design technical assistance and training activities to strengthen the FSCAA and its member stores.
Candidates for the FSCAA Managing Director position should have the following qualifications:
â€¢ 5+ years experience in organizational capacity building
â€¢ 5+ years experience related to marketing and business development
â€¢ Strong understanding of Afghan agriculture and input supply
â€¢ Strong command of English language
â€¢ USAID experience preferred
