SCI - Afghanistan
Save the Children has worked in Afghanistan since 1976. Our way of working close to people and on their own terms has enabled us to deliver lasting change to tens of thousands of children in the country. The UN Convention of the Rights of the Child is the basis of our work.
We are helping children get a better education, we make it possible for more boys and girls to attend school, we help children protect themselves and influence their own conditions. We work with families, communities and health workers in homes, clinics and hospitals to promote basic health in order to save lives of children and mothers
The purpose of creating this position is to supporting the planning, implementation, and monitoring of FSL - RRM livelihood project implementation in Faryab province. In addition the Community Mobilization assistant will be responsible for effective community mobilization to support implementation of FSL - RRM funded project. The applicant will ensure that project activities are well understood and accepted by the target communities that developed through proper on Community Mobilization.
Key Areas of Accountabilities:
§ Community Mobilization assistant is responsible for organizing, motivating and mobilizing target beneficiaries in support of all activities planned under FSL- RRM project for improvement of disaster affected community reintegration through livelihood intervention.
§ Responsible for organize, motivate and mobilize target beneficiaries in support all activities planned for them to make sustainable improvement.
§ Collaborate with Project Coordinator, FSL officers, FSL Assistants, and MEAL staff to design successful community mobilization strategy.
§ Support and work with other project staffs to build capacity at the community level correlated through training, workshops, follow-up and linkages.
§ Support to conduct base line, midterm, project-end participatory community assessments and evaluation in project coverage area.
§ Support project and provincial team to implement project activities in the community with innovative ideas.
§ Assist to facilitate training of Provincial Partners including Gov’t, and CBO’s according to the project plan.
§ Provide support in selection of project implementation sites and beneficiaries in target districts of Faryab province.
§ Community Mobilization assistant will be responsible for daily and weekly reporting to the project officer regarding community mobilization related activities.
§ Coordinate any project relevant issue with respective community members.
§ Establish positive working relationships with local communities.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning
§ Prepare and implement action plan for quality monitoring
§ Mobilizing and Making communities aware on project objectives, outputs and activities and MEAL systems and SCI Child Safeguarding Policies.
§ Facilitate project and activities information at all events such as training and workshops
Partnership
§ Ensure personal commitment in building constructive working relationship with partners based on SCI partnership principles spelled out in Theory of Change
§ Support project coordinator/ Officer on day to day handling of department tasks related to partners
