Job Summary

ROLE PURPOSE: Protection Assistants are responsibility to provide supports to the Protection Officer to ensure that the DRR- FSL and protection activities related to OFDA programming is implementing in the province. Protection Assistant is responsible for conducting baseline & end line survey by the support MEAL Unit and technical project staff for the IDPs, returnees sites affected communities The main purpose of this job is to finally bring a positive behaviour changes in CP and GBV of the targeted populations / beneficiaries and design and implement the all protection activities to this grant in collaboration with the SC senior officers and project staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Provide support in selection of project implementation sites and beneficiaries in target districts.
  • Support implementation of project baseline and end line data collection.
  • Responsible for all aspects of project implementation at the community level; develop project agreements; ensure that all project activities are completed in a timely, efficient and accurate manner according to schedule and to the highest standards.
  • Collaborate with Project Coordinator, officers (community mobilizers) and MEAL staff to design community mobilization strategy and project implementation plans - including all technical specifications.
  • Provide full support in development and translation of training materials (livelihoods skills development training, community development training, government capacity building training, etc.).
  • Implement and/or provide full contribution to training activities for different beneficiary groups (returnees, IDPs, other vulnerable households).
  • Support the development of Income Generation Activities (IGA) Plans and market linkages for target communities, ensuring youth (women and men), children and vulnerable groups contribute fully to each plan.
  • Food Security and Livelihoods officer will be responsible for daily and weekly reporting to the project coordinator.
  • Coordinate with respective community members and relevant stakeholders (government departments, UN agencies, and other existing and relevant INGOs) for implementation of project activities.
  • Assist joint monitoring visits with the government officials (Provincial/district relevant authorities) to the project sites.
  • Establish positive working relationships with local communities, provincial/district government officials such as line departments, UNHCR, DACCAR and NGO representatives.

Ensure that all beneficiaries of your program are receiving ongoing, age-appropriate verbal or written information in relevant languages about Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

§ BBA or relevant degree in social science.

§ Good communication skills

§ English proficiency in both speaking and writing

§ 3 years of experience in the relevant fields
