Job Summary

The Gender Officer will be responsible to assist the Gender Advisor in supporting and promoting a mutually reinforcing group of advocate and efforts to lead a sustainable campaign in support of electoral public outreach campaign. The Gender Officer will assist the Gender Advisor mainstreaming gender equity in STEP partner NGOs activities as well as to Counterpart International STEP's all aspects of programme implementation.

Duties & Responsibilities

• To assist the Gender Advisor in coordinating Counterpart STEP's activities related to gender responsive policies and programme within Counterpart STEP and other relevant partners.
• To assist the Gender Advisor in gender mainstreaming activities by facilitating regular meeting with all staff and relevant departments to ensure gender equity is included in their activities.
Develop training sessions/materials associated with gender training.
• Liaison with the Afghan Gender network and STEP partner organizations.
• Facilitate monitoring visits to all projects and activities funded by STEP to ensure gender equity measures.
• Provision of logistical and administrative support for all gender activities, such as training, consultancies, report-writing, and monitoring and evaluation (M and E) of program activities.
• Maintaining training data and update on TraiNetr (training can be provided if needed)
• Working closely with other program staff to ensure rigorous coordination of STEP program NGO partners , training and other program interventions
• Interacts with staff, NGOs, and clients in a professional and ethical manner.
• Responsible for meeting and trainings documentations. To document all gender activities and to make sure that all gender files and folders in hard and soft copies are up to date and accessible.
• Other assignment to be given by Gender Advisor.

Job Requirements

• Minimum-baccalaureate Degree and Diploma
• At least 1-2 years experience on field of gender
• Computer literacy in basic operations such as word processing, Excel and power point presentation.
• Good written and oral communication skill
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Willingness to enhance knowledge through training and personal initiative
• Strong time management skills
• Willingness to be flexible in responding to organizational needs.
• A very good team player
