About Afghanistan Center for Training and Development - ACTD:
Afghanistan Center for Training and Development â€œACTDâ€ is a registered non for profit, non-political and non-governmental independent organization working for development and transformation of civil society in Afghanistan. ACTD was established in March 2007 by a group of Afghan professionals to offer research, training and consultancy services in order to develop practically applicable knowledge. ACTD is currently operating in 19 provinces of the country providing services in the fields of community and civil society development, training/capacity building, research, and health service delivery.
Purpose: Overall responsibility of Gender Officer is to ensure gender mainstreaming in the organization, gender technical inputs are given to all programs, ensure that staff have gender capacity to implement their project/programs, provide technical assistance to organizationâ€™s staff members and CSSCs and CSOs staff members accordingly to their needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Ensure gender mainstreaming in the organization considering gender perspectives and gender technical inputs are given to all programs
â€¢ Ensure that staffs have gender capacity to implement their project/programs.
â€¢ Ensure the practical implementation of activities according action plan.
â€¢ Provide technical assistance to CSSCs and CSOs accordingly to needs
â€¢ Participate in regular Gender Focal Points monthly/quarterly meetings, ACTD staff meetings and trainings.
â€¢ Conducting gender related trainings to ACTD staff members, CSSCs and target CSOs
â€¢ Coordinate Bi-annually assess of the gender policy, recruitment, and the implementation of the project activities and take corrective action where the policy and project activities are not being followed.
â€¢ Be part of the recruiting committee to ensure that gender is considered in the recruitment process.
â€¢ Prepare quarterly reports for submission to the Deputy Director General in a timely manner.
â€¢ As requested, assist in planning for, and facilitate or participate fully in meetings related to the program activities.
â€¢ University degree or with 2 years gender and development experiences
â€¢ Highly proficient in written and spoken English.
â€¢ Good knowledge of gender issues.
â€¢ Experience the integrating gender perspective in the project plans and monitoring.
â€¢ Ability to work as a team
â€¢ Willingness to travel to the provinces as required.
â€¢ Familiar with the work of NGOs.
