About ARD Inc. KCI Project:
Tetra Tech ARD a US-based international development firm is implementing a USAID funded project; Kabul City Initiative Project (KCI) in Kabul-Afghanistan. The objectives of this project will be to create effective, responsive, democratic, transparent, accountable, municipal governance in Kabul City. KCI is supporting Kabul Municipality, which consists of a central administration and 22 administrative districts. Tetra Tech ARD will support Kabul City to increase institutional capacity, provide resources that allow Kabul City to deliver visible services, improve infrastructure, and increase city revenues.
Gender Specialist is responsible to provide Gender Facility for ARD KCI project. This position involves a wide range of gender tasks as below
Duties & Responsibilities:
Principle Duties and Tasks
Train or organize trainings for gender issues and link them to trainers and work out profitability/business plans.
To set up, coach and develop women capacity.
Monitor and evaluate the project activities on gender issues.
Collect data and report to M and E team
To assist in linking interested women and provide in cooperation with ARD KCI Project.
Organize and set up training to overcome women.
To link interested women or women groups to social affairs and business.
Identify appropriate, profitable projects, feasible for women.
Work out tables to compare different intervention opportunities for women.
Encourage women for education
Provide effective advice to ARD KCI staff on how to assist women under the given socio- economic.
Assist in identifying, interacting with and supporting KCI facilitator in communities
Report on all activities conducted and meeting participated.
Develop an activity plan for gender issues.
Document all activities related gender issues.
Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
Education: University Degree in Education or Diploma in similar Faculty.
Experience: 2-3 years work experience in a relevant field, preferably with an international organization.
Language Excellent Language proficiency in spoken and written Dari, Pashto and English is a requirement
Communication Listen to others, interpreting correctly messages and responding appropriately; pose questions for clarification, and exhibit interest in having two-way communication.
Other Skills Identification, organization, and execution of priority activities and assignments with minimal direct supervision, adjusting priorities as required
Allocation of appropriate amount of time and resources for the completion of assigned tasks
Ability to work collaborative with colleagues at all levels to achieve project goals
Tactfulness, Enthusiasm to the job. Good Human Relation skills, integrity and ability to work under pressure.
