Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) is a self-sufficient and independent corporation established under Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s Joint Stock and Limited liability corporations’ act. This corporation changed legal entity and replaced Da Afghanistan Breshna Mosesa (Afghanistan electricity company), as a national electricity corporation on 15th of Sawr 1387 SH, in accordance with May 04, 2008. Da Afghanistan Breshan sherkat (DABS) commercially manages generation, import, transmission and distribution of the power electricity across the country.
Executor of this position is responsible for fulfilling the listed tasks:
The role of the GIS Specialist is to provide the bulk of data processing and analysis support for major project initiatives.
Requires travel to provinces:
Should have good command in English and be fluent in both national languages.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Actively source additional GIS data as required
2.Maintain close contact with other GIS activities at MEW, DABS and other projects/ministries/agencies in Kabul
3.Manage and extend the Geo Databases, maintain metadata, ensure regular and reliable backup
4.Preparation and submittal of Geographic maps with the coordination of the country’s Energy Network
5.Preparation and submittal of Topographical maps with different scales of geodesy instrument.
6.Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual work plan for the related Department.
Job Location:Afghanistan, Kabul
The GIS Expert is expected to have a Bachelor or higher degree in ecology, environmental science, geography, anthropology, sociology, or a related field with strong skills and experience in GIS
A minimum 7 years of relevant working experience is required for bachelor degree. 5 years of working experience with Master Degree. Working with World Bank, USAID, ADB or other International Organizations as a GIS Expert will be an added advantage.
