.The Global Alliance Manager (GDA) will assist the Senior Advisor for Alliance Development to manage and oversee ASMED’s “Global Development Alliances†(GDA, Public Private Partnerships) component in Kabul, Afghanistan.
.He/she will support efforts to identify, design, develop and implement GDA-Projects with international Alliance partners throughout Afghanistan. The person will work closely with senior staff to ensure ASMED/USAID alliance goals and objectives are met through strategic outreach to private corporations, foundations, donors etc.
.Increased GDA funding, combined with new environmental and vertical structures compliance criteria, necessitate the addition of a junior to mid-level expatriate who will assist the Senior Advisor for GDAs with contract drafting, financial management and reporting, compliance issues, and oversight of partner performance and partnership impact.
The GDA Manager will play a supporting role in creating Public Private Partnerships in ASMED’s 5 target provinces (Kabul, Heart, Nangarhar, Kandahar and Badakshan) to support development of markets, provincial and regional economies, job creation, and sustainable livelihoods. He/she will be:
•Support the management of ongoing Alliances: due diligence, follow-up and close coordination with existing Alliance partners, oversee disbursement/milestones schedules and contractual obligations.
•Closely monitor the progress of workplan activities and USAID performance measurement indicators.
•Manage proper GDA-monitoring, evaluation and filing system
•Assist in the development of communication strategies for Alliances
•Assist in the expansion of ongoing Alliances as they develop/progress
•Help facilitate the management of ASMED’s GDA team in Kabul.
•Assist in mobilizing and managing potential short-term technical assistants (international consultants): draft Scope of Works etc
•Deep knowledge and understanding of the role and function of Public Private Partnerships
•At least one year of experience in effective “Alliance Building†and implementing Public Private Partnerships
•Computer proficiency and excellent report writing skills (English).
•Good teamwork skills including excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•Good knowledge and experience in writing reports/concept papers contracts/MoU’s etc.
•Work experience in the implementation of technical assistance projects and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations.
•Professional experience in Afghanistan preferred.
•Perfect fluency in written and spoken English (Dari/Persian additional asset).
