Action Aid furthers its mission in Afghanistan through long term development projects with sponsorship funding as well as short and medium term donor funded projects aligned to the overall mission, principles and values of ActionAid.

Job Summary:

To assist in establishment of Governance watch Entity and implementation of research and advocacy work related to Actionaid’s Governance and Policy plans, AAI’s global campaigns/strategies, AAI’s regional campaigns/strategies, etc. based on the context and knowledge of the country situation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•To work with Governance watch Entity, thematic teams on issues related to research and advocacy
•To assist in conduction and facilitation of the research work undertaken by Actionaid Afghanistan and according to GWP scope of work
•To contribute in preparation and designing of researches, campaigns and advocacy work
•To support the Governance and Policy Manager in planning and implementing advocacy work in Actionaid Afghanistan and the communities it works with
•To ensure proper documentation of research and advocacy work carried out by Actionaid Afghanistan.
•To support in identification of areas for further research, advocacy and networking
•To ensure proper logistical support in the advocacy and networking events organized by Actionaid Afghanistan
•To facilitate translation of reading materials and reports
•To monitor media on governance and ActionAid’s work in the country
•To maintain a good understanding of all Actionaid Afghanistan projects, including visits to ActionAid Afghanistan projects as and when necessary
•To facilitate translation or reading materials and reports

•To carry out any reasonable task that is assigned by Governance and Policy

Job Requirement:

•High school degree and university degree is an advantage
•Fluency in writing and speaking English and local language Dari/Pashto
•Understanding of gender rights based issues and approaches
•Strong analytical skills
•Flexible, forward looking, open, willingness to learn new things,
•Demonstrated ability to deliver quality reports within deadline
•Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization
•Being friendly with the colleagues and works best in a team
•Computer skills
•Willingness to frequently travels as and whenever required
