Job Summary

GRANTS AND CONTRACTS SPECIALIST, AFGHANISTAN
ARD, Inc. (http://www.ardinc.com), a Tetra Tech Company, is accepting expressions of interest from highly qualified Grants and Contract Specialist candidates for a USAID-funded Kabul City Initiative Program in Afghanistan. The purpose of this project is to create democratic, transparent and accountable municipal governance in targeted municipalities throughout Afghanistan.



Duties & Responsibilities

General Requirements of the position:
--Prior experience with USAID or other international donor funded development projects;
--Prior experience in Afghanistan preferred;
--Proven ability to provide deliverables on time and within budget;
--Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant field;
--Proficiency fluency in English, required.

Job Requirements

Specific Qualifications include:
--Minimum of 6 years experience administering and managing grants programs in developing country contexts, including direct grants to community organizations;
-- Demonstrated ability to develop clear and practical grant procedures, policies, and mechanisms, resulting in rapid and efficient implementation;
--Demonstrated achievement in maintaining transparent processes and financial flow;
-- Experience staffing and managing a grants support unit;
-- Confirmed capacity for training project technical staff to participate effectively in the grant identification, review, and implementation process;
-- Thorough knowledge of U.S. Government and USAID contract and grant management procedures, including monitoring and reporting;
