Job Summary:

The primary objective of this position in southern region is to increase new initiatives through grants component in the region and ensure the smooth implementation of grant activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Grants Officer will support the ASMED office through implementing various activities, to include but not limited to the following:
- Assist Kandahar programs staffs and Grants Team in Kabul in research activities and identification of Grants opportunities;
- Assist grantees in writing / editing grants applications;
- Work closely with ASMED’s clients (grant applicants);
- Review and provide recommendations for improvement of various implementation activities under the grants component;
- Work closely with the Grants Team in Kabul for implementation and process of grants;
- Maintain Grants Tracker with assistance from Kabul Grants Team;
- Work closely with RTL, BDS and Association staffs for editing and finalizing grants applications;
- Make sure that grantees clear their advances before releasing their next payments;
- Submitting periodical grant reports to RTL and Grants Team in Kabul;
- Any other task assigned by the competent authority;

Job Requirement:

- Degree in business administration;
- Excellent English Language skills (both written and spoken)
- Preferably Pashto and Dari fluency;
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office;
- Minimum three years program experience within relevant field of USAID’s projects, NGOs or UN agencies;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Able to pay close attention to detail;
- Highly organization;
