Co-ordinates with Mercy Corps program and operations staff in the office/guesthouse
Duties & Responsibilities:
ï‚§ . Be vigilante at all times â€“ including, night shifts; (guards sleeping on duty will be terminated immediately)
ï‚§ Remain at post at all times â€“ including when on gate duty;
ï‚§ Prohibit non-MC vehicles from entering the compound or parking within 50 meters of the premesis;
ï‚§ Receive visitors; issue visitors cards and log in register. Notify appropriate Mercy Corps staff member of arrivals.
ï‚§ Maintain the tidiness of the office outdoor premises.
ï‚§ Burn, bury, or otherwise dispose of garbage.
ï‚§ Adhere to all MC safety protocols and policies;
ï‚§ Bring any repair and maintenance requirements to the attention of the administrator/property officer;
ï‚§ Ensure flashlights and radio are always in good working order and that you have a good supply of spare batteries
ï‚§ Routine patrols of compound during night duty (at least once every hour). Regularly check on any Mercy Corps vehicles outside the gates.
ï‚§ Respond to routine radio checks from Head Guard or appointee;
ï‚§ Assist in maintaining generators and office heaters as per instructions from Property Officer;
ï‚§ Be available to help the administration with organization of gatherings and meetings.
ï‚§ Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission in Afghanistan;
Other duties as assigned.
High school graduation Responsible and trustworthy, punctual, clean. A working knowledge Fluent in Dari, Pashto English is desired. Must have initiative and work largely unsupervised. 2 â€“ 3 experience
