BACKGROUND:

DAI is implementing the USAID funded Afghanistan Competitiveness of Export-Oriented Businesses Activity (ACEBA) Program. The objective of this program is to enhance capacities of Afghan exporters and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) associated with export-oriented value chains, such as carpets, marble and granite, precious stones and jewelry, textiles, and cashmere as a means of promoting sustainable economic growth and increasing employment. 

Job Summary:

PURPOSE

Under the overall supervision of the Operations Manager, and the direct supervision of Facilities Specialist the Cleaner shall ensure that all areas of the ACEBA office are kept clean and tidy, free from rubbish, and maintain a healthy, sanitary working environment for all staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:

OBJECTIVE AND DUTIES: 

• Properly clean all areas in and around the project office, including, but not limited to, offices, bathrooms, halls, stairs, windows, and balconies.

• Notify the Facilities & Logistics Specialist of any issues with cleaning equipment.

• Ensure all office rubbish is stored securely ready for collection.

• Assist with the warehousing of deliveries to the office.

• Notify the Facilities Specialist of availability to perform other duties.

• Cleaners will also support the facilities team with the movement of office furniture and equipment and take responsibility for work in the grounds, cleaning steps, ensuring safe access in adverse weather, doing minor gardening tasks.

Job Requirement:

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working preferably with international donor-funded projects, UN agencies or INGO’s on programs in Afghanistan.


Other Skills:

• Understanding of hygiene standards.

• Good verbal and written communication skills. 

• Rudimentary knowledge of spoken English.

• Punctual and reliable.

• Team oriented.


Languages:

• Fluent in spoken and written Pashto or Dari, basic English is a plus


REPORTING: 

• The position reports to the Facilities Specialist.
