Job Summary:
Train CHWs and Women support group members on Home based Live Saving Skills (HBLSS). Supervise and monitor the implementation of HBLSS activities in rural villages of Herat Province, Afghanistan

Duties & Responsibilities:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
 Responsible to train CHWs and women support group members on HBLSS.
 Provide training to CHWs and women support groups on Infant and Young Child Feeding Practices (IYCF).
 Lead community mobilization activities related to HBLSS, maternal and newborn care activities that are conducted at the community level.
 Provide guidance on the establishment of women support groups to support HBLSS implementation.
 Sensitize the community members on HBLSS, safe maternal and newborn care.
 Ensure the effective implementation of HBLSS at the community level.
 Conduct frequent monitoring and supervision to HBLSS implementation sites
 Compile monthly reports and provide feedbacks to CHWs and women support group members
 Attend monthly review meetings with CHWs, Midwives, CHS and Village health shuras
 Prepare monthly activity plan regarding HBLSS, maternal and newborn care referring the project documents
 Responsible to participate to the community based program particularly supervision of health posts and female CHWs
 Execute other activities instructed by Project Manager

Job Requirement:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
 Diploma in nursing or Midwife with more than four years of experience in maternal and newborn care program
 Experience in MNCH programs and community mobilization activities
 Skills in carrying out monitoring and supervision of MNCH programs at the community level
 Good interpersonal, communication skills and desire to train community members
 The post-holder is expected spend 80% of the time in field coordinating, providing guidance and monitoring of HBLSS implementation
 Commitment to World Vision core values and mission statement
 Working knowledge of English
 Computer literate
