About Allamah University:

AIHE was established in early 2014 in Kabul City, Afghanistan and is registered with the Ministry of Higher Education. AIHE offers 4-year degree programs: Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) with two departments; namely, entrepreneurship and finance; and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (BCS) including two departments of Information Technology and Database. Besides the mentioned four majors, AIHE also teaches English, German and Turkish languages as well as computer, counselling, and career counselling. These non-degree programs are served under the Professional Development Unit (PDU). Over the past 5 years, AIHE has graduated more than 700 students in BBA and BCS and many more from the PDU short courses. AIHE has successfully won and conducted USAID projects of career counselling and other training. We have also implemented MToT (Master Training of Trainers), and have offered training and workshops on Gender, Human Rights, Peace and Conflict Resolution. AIHE actively supports its students in smoothly running the Allamah Debate Club, Allamah Futsal Team and other cultural activities

Purpose of Duty (Job Summary)

The Head of Department is required to lead, manage and develop the department to ensure it achieves the highest possible standards of excellence in all its activities. The main role of the Head of an Academic Department is to provide strong academic leadership to both students and staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·        Manage and chair meetings of the department;

·        Distribute the subjects to the faculty members (lecturers);

·        Supervise the accurate distribution of data based upon the curriculum, textbooks, theoretical and practical lectures;

·        Present creative and practical ideas for the betterment of the faculty/department;

·        Present research paper for the faculty;

·         Design development plan for department;

·         Check computer lab and technical functionalities surrounding it;

·        Design operational plan for department.

·        Design the teaching quality improvement plan for department.

·        Conduct special Monitoring and Evaluation of faculty members (lecturers);

·        Perform department assessments and help in other internal and external assessments;

·        Create schedules for all semesters’ teaching and exams;

·         Check and control that the study materials are updated and materialized;

·        Supervise the weekly and daily activities of the faculty members (lecturers);

·         Cooperation in exam processes of faculty.

·        Other regular task assigned to her/him.

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in the relevant field;

Full command of teaching and classroom management;


EXPERIENCE: 

Two years of experience in the relevant field, involving management and supervision of staff;

Three years of experience as a lecturer;
