The Health Promotions Liaison Coordinator will be an FHI 360 employee working and placed at the HEMAYAT office in Kabul. The Health Promotions Liaison Coordinator will be a member of a seven-person team, responsible for assisting with coordination of health communications activities within the donor-approved work plan with government and other key stakeholders. The Health Promotions Liaison Coordinator will report directly to the Demand Generation Senior Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:
With the Demand Generation Senior Manager, coordinate activities between the project and the Ministry of Public Health and other relevant line ministries and involved key stakeholders;
Actively engage line ministry staff in project activities and ensure regular updates to the Health Promotions Director on project activities;
Assume lead management role and direct responsibility for activities that develop new social and behavior change communication materials or revise existing materials in direct coordination with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Religious Affairs;
Directly coordinate with ASMO for work plan activities and tracking of assignment completion, in coordination with senior manager;
Draft all official communications of project outputs and content for newsletters; assist with drafting quarterly reports and work plan in coordination with Senior Manager;
Coordinate and technically assist conducting the community programs, i.e, community evaluations (PDQs) and assist conducting other training programs.
Provide assistance personally and within the Demand Generation team for technical needs related to SBCC identified by the Health Promotions Department and other departments of MoPH, other line ministries, and key stakeholders;
Ensure project participation in relevant working groups and assist with coordination of activities with key stakeholders; and
Keep the Demand Generation Senior Manager apprised of activity progress and carry out other technical (e.g. translation, adaption and pre-testing of messages), program or senior managerial tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Location:Afghanistan, Kabul
University degree in medicine or allied health professions, with Master’s degree preferred.
At least five years’ experience with health communications programming in Afghanistan with national reach and experience working with government entities. Candidates with social marketing/demand generation experience desired.
Ability to translate technical material for programming through various media channels.
Ability to travel nationally for activity monitoring.
Good verbal, written, and editing skills in Dari and Pashto.
Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple agencies.
Strong organizational skills; ability to work with minimal direction and willingness to take on assignments outside coordination tasks.
