Job Summary

The Health Supervisor/Trainer is overall responsible for supervision of all health activities in the project and assists the Project Manager within the field of health activities. S/he is also responsible for training activities within the project. S/He will provide needed support and on the job training to the health facilities staff. S/He will supervise health activities in the project and assure provision of proper health services within the project.
The Health Supervisor/Trainer will guarantee, through monitoring and supervision the all related activities within the cluster and appropriate utilization of the resources in accordance with the project contract, the SCA regulation and the BPHS needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

Supervisory Tasks
• Follow a developed plan of actions and give early notice in case of deviations. To visit, support and supervise all clinics within a given area, on a monthly basis, and ensure that activities are implemented according to plan.
• To assess and evaluate that health activities are in accordance to plan and regulations. Any deviation or difficulty should, when possible, be solved together with the concerned health facility staff.
Technical Tasks
• To take note of previous record made during supervisory visit to health facilities.
• To examine the clinic performance and its impact on improving the health situation in the community.
• To encourage the clinic staff to form good relation with authorities.
• To evaluate medicine stock and whenever is necessary collect and redistribute surplus medicine between clinics.
• To plan monthly, quarterly and yearly plan of action for the visit of the clinics in the designated area of responsibilities of the supervisor
• Assist the Health Services Manager in development of a local work plan, budget and proper reporting
Financial tasks
• To assists the BPHS Manager in the budget preparations, follow-up, revision and to secure accountable practices according to financial regulations.
Training tasks
• To assess the individual staff performance at the clinic, introduce staff in need of further training to the health training centre and to carry out on job training at the clinic in the form of workshops, seminars, case presentation and individual instructions to enhance their abilities.
• To carry out training need assessment of the project staff
• To develop and design curriculum and lesson plan for different trainings including MCH required for proper implementation of the project
• To facilitate training sessions.
• To train the staff of the clinics in management and planning of activities as well as administrative duties of the clinic

Job Requirements

• Graduated from recognised university as a Medical Doctor
• At least three years experience in health management
