Afghanaid is a British-registered international NGO, which has worked in Afghanistan for over 30 years. We assist community-driven processes that address the rights and fundamental needs of people in some of the most remote areas of Afghanistan, providing basic services, supporting development of rural livelihoods and responding to humanitarian emergencies. We are headquartered in Kabul, and operate 20 provincial and district offices across Badakhshan (north-eastern region), Samangan (northern region) and Ghor (western region), as well as a Marketing and Fundraising office in London. We employ around 160 personnel, 97% of whom are Afghans.
Under the general guidance of the PM Ghor and in-line with the Afghanaid Strategy, the Hygiene promoter is responsible to carry out community awareness raising sessions. They will involve working with communities’ members in the villages and schools, and discussing health related issues including raising awareness on hygiene and basic health. The Hygiene Promoters will be based in the district office Dawlatyar with an average radian distance of 75 KM from the target villages each. and He/she will get support from the Social Organisers as well. Afghanaid should encourage community workers or community volunteers and facilitators who can be supported through some kind of incentives in the field too. The Hygiene Promoters will gather participant feedback as well as update participants on how their input has been handled
