Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for providing technical support. As it is a troubleshooting support, so its scope of work will be to support all the departments of the ministry and zones.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Responsible to diagnose and repair hardware problems, set up, configure and test equipments.
• Responsible to install, configure, and maintain a variety of computer equipment including computer terminals, printers and data communications equipment.
• Responsible to support Windows workstations, as well as a wide range of proprietary software used to do Engineering tasks through software installations and upgrades and general networking and desktop support.
• Responsible to perform preventative maintenance on workstations to ensure systems are performing at an optimum level; will assist in some server maintenance and support.
• Responsible to provide direct ongoing support to MoEW staff on general computing issues including software upgrades and hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Responsible to maintain an up to date knowledge of repair practices, policies, and technical specifications.
• Responsible to interact with Network Manager in the development of new service programs and in the efficient provision of services currently offered.
• Responsible to determine source and nature of computer malfunction using diagnostic and application software. Adjust, repair, and replace malfunctioning equipment.
• Responsible to build capacity of MoEW and zones staff.
• Responsible to Serves as a principal source of information on equipment problems.
• Responsible to perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.
• Install and configure a File Server (Backup Server).
• Maintain and secure the core-Loan Tracking system backup software in to suitable Media.
• Maintain optimal performance of communications networks and computer related equipments.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of IT equipment.
• Identify and test new software and hardware for improving and upgrading system performance.
• Ensure virus-free information and IT File Server in the office.
• Regular computer maintenance, cleaning Server and client machine to avoid system break down.
• Provide support to staff in telecommunication, email, software, and internet connectivity.
• Keep in touch with the ISP, make sure that a stable internet connection is always available and in case of any failure resolve it accordingly.
• Conduct staff training on computer basics, MS Office applications and basic networking.
• Assist -as needed- with developing databases or other Microsoft application for program and operation staff
• Responsible use and confidentiality of any information identified as sensitive
• Oversee, repair of computer hardware and software, facilitate and advise on best, safest and most economic solutions in consultation with the IT Systems Administrator.
Job Requirement:
• Graduate in the fields of Computer Science or at least 12 grade graduated and Certificate of DIT;
• At least 2-3 years of professional working experience in the field in governmental or non-governmental organizations;
• Familiarity with A+ (Hardware and Software), MCSE
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skill;
• Fluent in written /spoken Dari, Pashtu and English;
