Job Summary

The incumbent of this position is responsible for oversight of livelihoods related organization of target communities in line with the program objectives, program implementation, identifying projects for the community, facilitating DRR subprojects’ proposals and completion reports and performing any other identical duty as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Facilitate the promotion of livelihoods
• Identify and initiate activities to enhance productive skills of project participants
• Identify pilot initiatives in livelihoods in select communities
• Conduct labor market survey for each sub project and develop the report

2. develop a plan for the implementation of the livelihoods sub projects
• develop proposal for livelihood projects among the project beneficiaries
• Identify and implement vocational training/ livelihoods activities as required
• Oversee the work of trainers/ facilitator for vocational trainings and other related activities

3. build the capacity of field staff in the implementation of the activities
• Identify the training needs of staff in livelihood activities
• Develop a capacity building plan for the staff on livelihood activities
• Provide on the job training for supervisors and project staff as required.

4. Supervise the implementation of the project activities in the field
• Provide oversight to the work of the supervisors/trainers/facilitators.
• Work closely with operations team for the implementation of project activities
• Monitor and document field level activities.
• Prepares and monitors budgets for all sub projects

5. Coordinates activities with other agencies and departments involved in promoting economic security.
6. Any other responsibilities and tasks assigned by supervisors.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION: University degree (, agriculture, community development subjects or management)

WORK EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of work experience preferably with international agencies.
Experience of small-scale enterprise development.


SKILLS: technical skills in the area of community based activities for income generation
Experience in participatory appraisals, problem analysis and a good understanding of developmental and relief concepts.
Computer skills- especially in work and excel.
Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively

LANGUAGES: Knowledge of both spoken and written English is required. Working knowledge of Pushto or Dari as the national languages of the host country will be preferred.

GENERAL: The position will be required to travel to all project areas and willingness to work under difficult life conditions.

AUTONOMY:
Income generation officer has the autonomy to carry out his duties as specified above.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position will be based in Kabul and Travel will be required to all project areas.
