The Office Administrator will work in an office of the NRC Information, Counselling Legal Aid and shelter Projects in Afghanistan Kabul according to and as reflected in the objectives and goals stated in the project description and budgets to donors and in line with the NRC Policy Program and current Plan of Action and Strategy for the region.
The employee shall represent and promote the interests of NRC through the implementation of the projects and through advocacy work on behalf of refugees, returnees and internally displaced persons.
• The Office Administrator shall support the Head of Office and Field Coordinator, consistent with applicable laws and procedures and NRC’s standard operating procedures and instructions;
• The Office Administrator shall be responsible for receiving and expending funds and maintaining accurate records of the same, with receipts;
• The Office Administrator shall provide timely records of funds received and expended, with receipts, to the finance officers in NRC Main Office;
• The Office Administrator shall maintain and update hard copy files of documents and maintain an accessible filing system for use by the staff of the office;
• The Office Administrator shall make translations of notes and documents into English, Pashto and Dari;
• The Office Administrator shall make local procurement and assist with local hiring. The Administrator will be responsible for logistics of the office and will, in particular, maintain rote of vehicle use and monitor vehicle use and fuel expenditure;
• The Office Administrator shall participate in NRC staff seminars and training, when scheduled;
• The Office Administrator shall help distribute information important to the work of other offices;
• The Office Administrator shall help exchange of information with relevant external sectors;
• The Office Administrator shall at all times respect the anonymity of clients approaching NRC and the confidentiality of information received from any clients;
• Any other reasonable tasks as instructed by immediate superior.
• At least high school graduated/ Diploma in Business Administration preferred;
• 2 to 3 years previous work experience with a satisfactory performance in the same or similar functional area preferably with UN or NGOs;
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Fluency in written and spoken English;
• Ability to work additional hours if and when required;
• Self confidence.
