She will be responsible to assist the internal audit manager in all the below activities as:
Develop Risk Management Framework:
• Update policies to measure and mitigate risks around the existing pillars of our Audit Program and our Fellows Program, which address WWI MFI major risks: fraud, lack of transparency, delinquency
• Develop risk mitigation strategies, and monitor their implementation and effectiveness
• Revise policies and procedures as needed, through regular reviews, internal controls to the field, if needed, and reporting, to adapt WWI MFI Risk Management Framework to changing risk environments
Manage Portfolio:
• Monitor risk throughout the portfolio, and assess and prioritize risks
• Conduct and manage fraud investigations, as appropriate, through field visits
• Serve as liaison with CFO’s of key partnerships and with the Directors of Internal Auditing, particularly for networks
Develop and direct WWI MFI Audit Program:
• Update criteria as needed, develop partnerships with firms to conduct WWI MFI Audits
• Work with Program Director of Microfinance Partnerships to prioritize country and MFI audits, based on risk factors
• Review audit reports, and develop corrective action plans required to improve financial controls and reporting relative to WWI MFI loans
• Conduct follow up investigations, as appropriate (actions may include assistance with the development of an internal audit program for the MFI or the need to involve outside technical assistance for the MFI)
• Study, analyze and report on trends based on audit results that can improve WWI MFI overall risk management policies and incorporate into policies and contract revisions
• Regular field visit/control initiatives
• Degree or Ongoing related education or finance related education is appreciated
• Journalism or Literature Graduation Degree and experience in Journalism field are a plus and preferred.
• Practical experience and theoretical in audit or finance and training in budget and excellent skills in accounting, bookkeeping, and other financial management operations either in NGO, private business sector/ MFI is preferable, for at least 2 years
• Excellent computer knowledge (Word, Excel and Internet)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dari, Pushtu and English
• Accounting software Knowledge is preferable
• Flexible, punctual and hard-working
