Duties & Responsibilities:
The holder of the post is responsible to
ï‚§ Assist the Unit Manager in the smooth functioning of the Unit, with particular attention to the Internal Control Activity Plan, implementation, and reporting.
ï‚§ Shows initiation, acts proactively
ï‚§ He or She is responsible to learn the GTZ O and R and the IC guidelines.
Within this context, s/he fulfils the following tasks:
ï‚§ As a secondary role in the unit, to learn the Winpaccs Program and be ready to deputize for the Finance Officer or the accountant in their absence.
ï‚§ To learn and understand the system, procedures, rule and approach put in place by GTZ IC guidelines for IC implementation, and reporting.
ï‚§ To assist the Unit Manager in capacity building programs for the project administration and accounting staff on IC and O and R.
ï‚§ To prepare or review (if prepared by the accountants) monthly error sheets for the projects posted into Winpaccs.
ï‚§ To prepare check list As for the projects at least twice a year.
ï‚§ To assist the Unit manager in devising a proper activity plan for the IC implementation for 2009.
ï‚§ To assist the Unit manager in carrying out on site ICs with help of the standard GTZ Checklists.
ï‚§ To assist the Unit manager in compilations of the ICs done this year and its reporting to HQs.
ï‚§ To represent the Unit Manager in feedback meetings on IC in the projects or in the Country Office.
ï‚§ To maintain a proper filling system for the IC within the Accounting/IC unit.
ï‚§ Any other task as maybe asked by the Unit Manager or Head of Administration.
C. Other Duties/Additional Tasks
ï‚§ Supposed to work longer hours without any guaranteed compensation for the extra hours worked.
IC Officer: BA in Accounting and Auditing or comparable qualification (direct work experience).
ï‚§ At least 3-5 years of professional work experience in a similar position.
ï‚§ Proficiency in Micro Soft Office, particularly Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms Access, etc.
ï‚§ Good working knowledge of contemporary telecommunication systems.
ï‚§ Language skills: Fluency in the local languages and English. German is considered advantage.
