The Inventory Officer shall manage and be responsible for maintaining proper and accurate inventory for DAIâ€™s LGCD project in Afghanistan.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Land Transport, Storage and Handling:
â€¢Record GDRâ€™s in to Inventory Excel data base.
â€¢Report to the Logistics and Asset Manager, lost, damaged, destroyed and untraceable assets.
â€¢Ensure that all incoming and outgoing supplies are undertaken up to DAI-LGCD standards and policies and USAID regulations.
â€¢Ensure that warehousing where and when needed is done according to DAI-LGCD standards and policies.
â€¢Maintain a file for all pro-forma invoices received under item group filing system (vehicles, Communication, IT, office supplies, office equipment, etc.).
â€¢Assist the receiving and inspection process of goods and planning of storage and warehousing accordingly.
â€¢Ensure all assets are labeled and entered properly in to DAI Inventory system.
â€¢Guide and participate in physical Inventories and verifications. The Procurement Manager shall evaluate and manage the equipment and supplies requirements of each project site.
â€¢Supervise maintenance of stock movement records in the storerooms. This includes orders due, quantity delivered, balances due, and quantity dispatched.
â€¢Travel to provincial office for physical inventory work, and verification of inventory.
â€¢Collect inventory data from regional and provincial offices.
â€¢Train regional staff on inventory management, labeling and recording.
â€¢Assist regional offices in meeting deadlines for monthly inventory reports.
â€¢Assist in ensuring that all supporting documents are obtained and kept in order for auditing purposes.
â€¢Perform other related duties as required.
â€¢A university Degree (Preferred) with 2 years relevant experience in an NGO, UN or any USAID project.
â€¢Good command of English. Fluency in Dari and Pashtu both verbally and written.
â€¢Strong organizational and negotiating skills.
â€¢Computing skills (Ms Office: word and excel, internet) are essential; database skills ACCESS/SQL an advantage.
â€¢Team player, capacity builder, flexible in working hours.
â€¢Self starter, initiative and able to perform with little or no supervision.
â€¢Knowledge of Afghanistan, especially the East, South and Southeastern regions where DAI/LGCD is working.
