Investment Officer
Reporting to the Managing Director, this position has overall responsibility for origination, due diligence, monitoring, and collections of SEAF-AGF investments. The position allows the successful candidate to be part of the vital asset-generation team and play a major role in the company’s continued development and expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare credit applications and supporting loan documentation – Credit Origination fulfillment and credit appraisals in liaison with Credit Department, whilst maintaining client profitability and risk management.
• Analyze financial information, such as statements, management accounts and cash flow statements;
• Develop models of financial information to assess viability of investments and project growth; work on presentations for AGF’s global investment committee;
• Advise and recommend changes to credit policies and procedures;
• Liaise with other staff within the company, such as marketing officers and monitoring and evaluation officers;
• Stay informed about the legal, compliance and market-risk-related issues involved in the approval of credit.
• Provide a contact point for the customer to support relationship building and marketing.
• Monitor all loan facilities in the portfolio against set parameters/ conditions.
• Add value to clients through the identification of cross-selling opportunities.
• Identify and evaluate potential customers’ financial and service needs.
• Identify opportunities for new product development and present proposals to the Chief Credit Officer.
• Participate as needed in SEAF’s monthly portfolio management committee calls.
• Plan and manage regional trips and client site visits.
• Participate and help organize seminars, meetings, and roundtables sponsored by AGF.
Qualifications Required:
• B.A. or similar degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, or Economics from a recognized university.
• Minimum two years working experience in banking or credit position.
• Professional qualification in financial management and accounts.
• Financial statements preparation and analysis skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Possess good presentation and organizational skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in Dari or Pashtu and English
• Understanding of Afghanistan’s economy, key sectors, and private sector.
• Ability to travel to all regions of the country
