About World Vision International Afghanistan:
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The position will implement all aspects of Afgohelpdesk support, responding to day-to-day requests and also ensure that policies and procedures are regularly monitored and implemented.
Afgohelpdesk supports all WV Afghanistan staff requests regarding computers and associated operating system and application software, LAN, Internet, Lotus Notes email and databases, printers, scanners and mobile communications.
The position will be based in Checharan Zonal Office
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Support all World Vision Afghanistan staff and visitors requesting assistance through AfgoHelpdesk thoroughly and in a timely manner
â€¢ Monitor and maintain IS assets and documentation with CA Assets and IS Resources databases
â€¢ Install, configure and upgrade computers and software according to World Vision policies and standards.
â€¢ Configure and troubleshoot Lotus Notes clients and train users.
â€¢ Assist in development of user and IS documentation and training materials.
â€¢ Assist in delivering ongoing staff IS training.
â€¢ Provide staff IS orientation.
â€¢ Perform scheduled asset, policy and licence monitoring.
â€¢ Organise repair / replacement / purchase of hardware as required and approved.
â€¢ Assist with LAN installation and maintenance.
â€¢ Ensure user data is backed-up, antivirus updates and scans are performed.
â€¢ Ensure computer supplies, accessories and consumables are stocked and available.
â€¢ Ensure network services (LAN and WAN) are maintained and available.
â€¢ Perform periodical backup of servers(s) on tapes or other available devices.
â€¢ Assist with other duties as assigned by the Acting IT manager and IT Manager.
â€¢ National Professional Diploma in Computer Studies or equivalent experience.
â€¢ Fluency in English and Dari, both verbal and written is essential.
â€¢ Ability to learn and communicate new concepts clearly.
â€¢ Good interpersonal skills.
â€¢ Adaptability and flexibility.
â€¢ Availability to work out-of-hours and in different locations as the need arises.
â€¢ Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment with multi-national and international staff.
