Under supervision of IT Supervisor, IT Infrastructure Mgr, IT Administrator or higher level technical/managerial staff assists with installations, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrading of PC hardware and software; assists with assessing user training needs and trains users in effective use of applications; prepares documentation as directed and provides user assistance to company staff; and performs related work as required. Although primary responsibility is in the desktop arena, may be asked to assist in network solutions.
• Assists with: installations, configurations, maintenance and support of personal computer systems, applications software, associated components and peripheral devices. Assists with advise regarding network attached equipment, printers, scanners and related equipment.
• Assists with training of user staff on personal computer usage; assists with arranging for training on a variety of systems; assists with providing technical assistance to software or hardware problems; assists with troubleshooting operating problems with printers and other peripheral equipment.
• Assists with providing technical advice for network and computer system users including network applications, software and peripheral equipment.
• Assists with periodic testing of the security policies and suggests revisions as appropriate.
• Assists with troubleshooting hardware and software problems; offers appropriate proactive advice to resolve problems and assists users in methods to avoid future problems.
• Assists with development of training materials, including tutorials, documentation and instructional manuals for system use.
• Develops documentation for cabling and other work performed; maintains a variety of records and prepares periodic reports of work performed.
• Assists with troubleshooting operating system problems with personal computer hardware and software for user staff; provides technical assistance by telephone or at the user’s desk as appropriate for the situation.
• Assists in planning and implementation of conversion projects.
• Assists with creation of simple database programs for department users; assists to identify needs, writes basic programs under close supervision; instructs users and documents procedures.
• Assists with repairs of personal computers and prepares for recycling to other departments.
• Maintains a variety of data as required; prepares reports using data collected and makes recommendations for further action as appropriate.
• Performs duties in support of special projects.
• Works on call as needed.
CANDIDATE MUST BE AN AFGHANISTAN CITIZEN, ABLE TO ATTEND INTERVIEW AND WORK IN KABUL.
Essential:
2-6 years of working experience in a similar role.
Knowledge of software, hardware and IT infrastructure setup.
Knowledge of Microsoft products.
Excellent English comprehension (written, spoken and read).
Hard working, team player, self motivated, focused with a “can do†attitude.
Ability to work under strict timelines.
Experienced working in a multi-cultural environment.
Desirable:
Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2003 or higher , XP or higher.
University degree or diploma in IT or related field.
