We do this by building the capacity of local partner nongovernmental organizations, lenders, businesses, governments and other institutions to solve their own, self-defined economic, ecological, political, and social problems in ways that are sustainable, practical, and independent.
Under the direct supervision of the Counterpart STEP Administration, the IT Officer will provide training and support to Counterpart STEP Program on IT related matters.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Overall Management and Trainings:
â€¢ The IT Officer will be responsible for training Ms Windows, Ms office, and the use of Internet when needed to staff members and partners team members
â€¢ The IT Officer will be responsible for installing software and trouble-shooting/maintaining computer hardware and other IT equipment.
â€¢ The IT Officer will develop and train in IT related policies and procedures.
â€¢ The IT Officer will be responsible for managing the STEP Share Driver and Public Driver.
â€¢ The Officer will be responsible for creating new Official ID through STEP exchange server and making sure all official email IDs are working properly.
Trouble Shooting and Technical Support:
â€¢ Troubleshoot a wide range of problems in consultation with Counterpart STEP administrative, programmatic, and technical staff.
â€¢ Update, maintain, and troubleshoot whatever issues STEP staff have with their workstations, office printers and other shared systems, office networks and Internet/Intranet connections, Windows file/print/DNS/etc server, WAPs, and switches, and the STEP email server.
â€¢ Maintain regular backups of office data, and periodically test their restoration.
â€¢ Train STEP staff on the various tools and systems available to them.
â€¢ Provide technical assistance to STEP staff and partners with respect to meeting whatever IT needs identified within the context of program implementation.
â€¢ Carry out other duties as may be assigned by the management
â€¢ Upload and update the STEP Website contents regularly.
â€¢ Create new web documents if/when necessary.
â€¢ Review regularly the website for accuracy and consistency.
ï‚§ Prepare biweekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
â€¢ A two-year degree in an IT-related field of study, and/or sufficiently extensive work experience and certification.
â€¢ High proficiency in computer skills, particularly with systems such as Windows Server 2003, Linux, Toolkit, and Symantec Ghost, as well as Windows XP and Office 2003/2007.
â€¢ 1-3 years previous experience in a similar post with an International organization, or UN agency is preferred.
â€¢ Knowledge of Dari, Pashto, and high level of fluency in English required.
