• Providing IT support and services to project and regional offices including Kandahar, Herat, Kunar and Etc.
• Installation of software and hardware of computers.
• Troubleshooting, maintenance, deployment of computers and IT related equipment, also the wired and wireless network of the regional offices and remote locations.
• Providing support and services for the regional and remote locations of the project areas including all the Provinces and Kabul.
• Support and Training regional personal for email usage, computer software usage, Internet and any other related categories required.
• Completing any other task or assignment assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities
• IT Engineer would be responsible for maintaining proper flow of the project Information Technology system by providing different solutions and support for hardware and software problems.
• IT Engineer will be responsible for keeping ACG Kabul office computers and wired/wireless networks in a good function and manner and responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining of ACG IT systems and updating of software and hardware as necessary and directed by supervisor or manager.
• IT Engineer will travel to Kandahar near provinces to maintain ACG remote office in good function and provide installations, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Provide IT support to the Kabul office, including occasional support outside of normal office hours, including desktop computers, laptops, printers, Server, network and internet access, email accounts, file storage and other responsibilities.
• Ensure staff usage of office network / IT systems is consistent with IT policies as per ACG IT policy rules.
• Ensure that all users of the office network have updated anti-virus software and relevant security service packs.
• Oversee the technical evaluation of bids and proposals received for IT equipment and services.
• Document network, laptop and workstation configurations including the inventory list of the It equipment at main and regional offices.
• Troubleshoot Internet, email, computer, printer and any other IT equipment issues in Kabul.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs on hardware equipment
• Ensure that the computer systems, including Internet, printers, photocopy machine, camera remain fully functional for all users on a daily basis.
Qualifications
• University degree in Computer Science,diploma in IT or MCP/MCSE/CCNA certified is preferred.
• 2 years of relevant experience in IT Installation, Troubleshooting, Implementation and Control and Monitoring of IT environment with any International NGO.
• Sound knowledge of Desktop Computing Hardware and Software, Troubleshooting and Proficiency in Network Administration.
LANGUAGES: Fluency in English, good command of Dari and Pashto languages.
VSAT Experience: Any type of VSAT experience (iDirect, ComTech) is supporting to your selection and is good to mention in you CV and Covering Letter.
GENERAL: Self starter, enthusiasm and creativity, willingness to work in difficult and uncertain operating environment, and also the position will be required to travel to all project areas in the Kandahar and near Provinces.
