Founded in 2004, The First Microfinance Bank - Afghanistan (FMFB-A) is part of the Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance (AKAM), which has programmes in over 10 countries throughout the developing world. FMFB-A's vision is to be recognized as the leading microfinance services provider contributing to poverty alleviation and economic development through the provision of sustainable financial services primarily targeting micro/small businesses and households. The bank provides credit and deposit products to a wide range of clients including micro, small and medium enterprises along with commercial banking and international remittance services. The bank is also a member of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) - an independent network of banks using finance to deliver sustainable economic, social and environmental development. Our values-based banking agenda focuses on providing affordable financial services that promote entrepreneurship, agriculture, incremental housing and clean energy in Afghanistan. With over 1,100 employees (20% women), FMFB-A operates in 14 provinces of Afghanistan through 39 branches (including one women only branch). The number of FMFB-A clients across 14 provinces reaches about to 180,000 (23% women) both in rural and urban areas. The FMFB-A loan outstanding and savings values reach to over AFN 6.2 billion and AFN 2.5 billion, respectively.
The System Administrator will work on a wide variety of technologies. System Administrator will provide technical and engineering expertise in the areas of systems-related project planning, design, and engineering of systems, including system performance management, security audit and remediation, and performs other related duties as assigned.
1-Responsible for secure design of systems and security baselines.
2-Solves complex problems and takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
3-Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
4-Works with multiple platforms, conducting performance tuning, capacity planning, detailed monitoring and reporting - more engineering work and less day-to-day configuration work.
5-Install, configure, and troubleshoot, new and existing servers, Storages, application and firewalls.
6-Maintain High Availability (HA), vCenter Server, vSphere Operations Management, VMWare, vSphere clusters, VMware Update Manager, Virtual Distributed Switch.
7-Identify potential virtual system configuration issues and proactively perform maintenance to resolve or improve system performance. About FMFB-A Job Summary Duties and Responsibilities Duty Station IT Dep't Page 1 of 2
8-Manage virtualized servers hosted by VMware and Oracle Virtualization and deploy new VMs when required.
9-Troubleshoot problems reported by users and analyze issues to prevent it in future.
10-Regularly administer, monitor, evaluate all the physical and logical program related systems and infrastructure.
11-Maintain the integrity and availability of application, Servers, storage infrastructure and devices.
12-Perform daily system administration and monitoring tasks.
13-Perform regular, period off, and on-site backup operations.
14-Ensuring that all the required and critical systems' data are successfully backed-up and/or replicated to disaster recovery site.
15-Regularly administer and monitor the security and integrity of all relevant physical and logical program infrastructure.
16-Ensure systems are protected against any potential breaches.
17-Ensure timely installation of patches, upgrades and updates when required.
18-Regularly research and perform hardware and software performance tuning, upgrades and resource optimization.
19-Recommend timely improvements, upgrades in all program related physical and logical infrastructure and systems.
20-Perform any other relevant tasks and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
21-Perform Security Monitoring to identify possible security risks, take steps to mitigate the security risks.
22-Manage and maintain enterprise level servers and infrastructure.
23-Manage system hardware, including routine maintenance and Return Materials Authorization (RMA)/replacement of failed hardware
1- A widely recognized degree in computer science or related IT field.
2- Having at least one of the following certifications is necessary: MCSA, RHCE Preferred.
3- At least Five years of experience in managing/supporting the network infrastructure of a big organization with multiple branches, preferably in a banking environment. Skills: 1- Five years of IT experience as a Windows system administrator and Linux Administrator. 2- Windows Active Directory design, deployment, management, and security profiling. 3- PowerShell automation and scripting.
4- In depth experience with VMware ESXi administration, Oracle Virtualization installation, and advanced troubleshooting.
5- Data center infrastructure.
6- Operating systems internals and network communications.
7- Systems hardware.
8- Excellent written and verbal communication skill.
9- Good documentation and reporting skills.
