In 2008, Roshan brought a viable solution to money transfer needs to Afghanistan by introducing an innovative service, M-Paisa. M-Paisa offers a money transfer service which enables registered Roshan customers to transfer money using their mobile phone in a quick, easy, safe, and cost effective manner for peer-to peer transfer, repayment of microfinance loans, purchase of airtime and salary disbursement for companies. Roshan partnered with Vodafone to launch this innovative service.

Duties & Responsibilities:


As part of an effort to create a world class mobile money transfer business, that caters to the unbanked, and is in support of getting the unbanked into financial inclusion, we are seeking motivated individuals to lead the Key Accounts team. As a member of the team, your role will be to analyze, prioritize and deliver against M-Paisa corporate business growth opportunities within a strategic framework.

Responsibilities include:

1. Recruit key accounts (corporate, government, banks, MFI’s, NGO’s, Private Sector, etc…) per target schedule, that would use M-Paisa for bill payments and salary disbursements

2. Train all key accounts to ensure they know how to use the systems and can manage effectively and efficiently

3. Maintain relationships with all key accounts, to ensure their business is growing and that any new opportunities are always being presented

4. Deliver new opportunities for acquisition of business users

5. Ensure that all M-Paisa Key Account business partners (agents, merchants etc) have valid contracts

6. Manage all financial matters as it pertains to key accounts, in conjunction with the Head of Finance for M-Paisa

7. Develop, foster and maintain effective relationships with a variety of companies in Afghanistan

8. To develop and manage the Business Development strategy to ensure growth and development of M-Paisa services in the business

9. To work closely with the Head of Sales and the Agent Recruitment team, to ensure that agents are well aware of the new key accounts that have been signed up

10. To communicate and train Customer Care agents with the proper information as it pertains to the new key account

11. Analyze revenue targets; investigate any shortfall and propose remedial action

12. Ensure KYC and AML regulations are always understood and complied by all key accounts

13. To conduct events/workshops to educate employees of key accounts on M-Paisa and how it can be used on a personal basis to assist their daily lives

14. To provide feedback to M-Paisa team on any issues and problems, so that they can be rectified in a timely manner

15. To OWN M-Paisa in all ways to best represent your key accounts

Job Requirement:


• Minimum Grade 12 certificate – University Degree is an asset
• Demonstration of continuing education through courses and/or other mediums
• Sales courses and how to create needs and manage/handle objections


• Demonstrated ability to interact key account clients, executives and senior government authorities in a professional and positive manner
• Ability to train and sell new innovations in an environment that may not be always open to new ideas


• Excellent English, Dari and Pashto skills – Reading, Writing and Speaking
• Ability to be creative and think outside of the norm
• Ability to write comprehensive reports and communicate effectively with all levels of management and within the TEAM
• Proven track record of being a team player
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
• Proven ability to think outside of the norm and present new ways of getting things done
