The legal advisor will have a service agreement letter with Oxfam GB Afghanistan programme and will be called in on an ad hoc basis only.
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢Provide legal advice to the Oxfam GB Afghanistan Country Programme, as and when required.
â€¢Negotiate and reply legal notices and help Oxfam to sort out issues out of Court(s).
â€¢Review Partnership contracts, as and when required.
â€¢Help in interpreting Labour Laws if and when required.
â€¢Courts of Law i.e., Magistrate / Sessions / Civil / Lower Appellate / Shariah / High / Supreme Court cases filed by either Oxfam GB against suppliers, partners, employees, others etc., or against Oxfam GB by suppliers, ex-employees, partners etc.
â€¢Deal with matters such as trials, bails, incidental rent, appeals, revisions, transfer applications, constitutional jurisdiction, intra court appeals / larger benches, leave to appeal, etc.
â€¢Be willing to travel to Oxfam GB operational areas, if the cases so warrant
â€¢To extend help/expert services to Oxfam GB not specifically stated above
â€¢University degree from Faculty of Law or Sharia, and a thorough knowledge of Afghan law
â€¢Legal license to practice law in the courts of Afghanistan
â€¢At least five years experience of dealing Civil, Criminal and Labour cases
â€¢Preferably having experience in dealing labour, civil and financial laws
â€¢Excellent networking and informal relationship with lawyers community
â€¢Knowledge of Labour practice in Afghanistan
â€¢Fluent in English and local national languages
