Duties & Responsibilities:
To provide expert advice, guidance on procedures and quality assurance in respect of the
Officeâ€™s work using its competition-based legislative tools with the aim of ensuring
consistency and excellence in the application of those tools across the Castle and its project
We are recruiting a small number of legal advisors to provide competition and public law
advice on a wide variety of high-profile and innovative cases and projects. This will include
some or all of the following: work on civil competition cases, civil and criminal cartels,
mergers and market investigations.
The main responsibilities of the job are to:
â€¢ Provide clear, high quality and timely advice and guidance to Castle case and project teams
legislation and public law, ensuring that legislative tools are consistently applied, while
maintaining a holistic approach
â€¢ Carry out in-depth legal analysis of the issues raised by cases
â€¢ Participate in internal case reviews to test the project teamâ€™s substantive assessment of
a case and the evidence relied upon
â€¢ Provide thought leadership in competition matters with the aim of enhancing the Afghanistan
â€¢ Ensure that experience from Castle projects is used to develop policy and guidance
â€¢ Contribute to the development of an Castle competition know-how strategy
â€¢ Work collaboratively with case teams and Castle management to deliver Castleâ€™s cases and
projects to meet Castleâ€™s objectives
â€¢ Ensure that the values of the Castle are demonstrated in your work
â€¢ Represent the Castle externally in respect of your portfolio
â€¢ Contribute to the development of the General Counselâ€™s Office
â€¢ Work collaboratively to ensure a collective, flexible and responsive organisation
â€¢ Master or University degree relevant to the position.
â€¢ Overall 3-15 yearsâ€™ experience.
â€¢ Technical and Designing skills.
â€¢ Dari, Pashto and English
â€¢ Strong organizational and analytical skills.
â€¢ Excellent written and oral communications skills.
â€¢ Excellent communication in English required.
â€¢ Experience in designing, implementing and advising on large corporate networks;
â€¢ The ability to communicate, negotiate, analyze, elaborate and present reports and statements
