OXUS Afghanistan started Operation in 2005 under support of ACTED, a development and relief NGO, which is operating in twenty five Countries of the world, and Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA). Currently, OXUS Afghanistan has a portfolio of over AFN 816 million with an outreach of about 22,000 customers managed through 19 Branches, 10 provinces. OXUS Afghanistan is a part of OXUS Group, a global network of Microfinance Institutions created by ACTED, a leading international NGO operating in 25 countries. OXUS Afghanistan was created with funding from the Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA), a Government Apex agency set up by international donors in 2003 in order to develop and support the microfinance sector in Afghanistan. OXUS Afghanistan Provides conventional and Islamic financing. OXUS -Afghanistan has individual and group lending which helps Afghan people have access to finance. OXUS-Afghanistan provides financing for youth and women as women improvement process and support them for better access to finance.

Job Summary:

Is directly responsible for any potential late repayment by the clients and works closely with the Loan Administrator or Branch Manager in order to eliminate any portfolio at risk immediately.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1) Processes new micro loans to groups loan:
a)Prospects new customers and assists them during their whole loan application;
b)Ensures that all forms are completed correctly by the clients, with special attention given to the accurate understanding and completion of the Business Profile by each client;
c)Conducts individual loan appraisal by collecting detailed information (personal, business, guaranties, collaterals);
d)Conducts due diligence on all potential individual customers to ensure that their business plans and guarantees are realistic and that the loan amount and term is suitable for them;
e)Gives his/her opinion during loan committee meetings to decide which groups will receive a loan;
f)Attends the signature of the contract and reads it thoroughly, especially the penalty clause;
g)Opens the loan account of his/her customers and follows up thoroughly the client relationship;
h)Develops his/her clientele by marketing and selling individual loans (only if no portfolio at risk);

2) Ensures timely repayments for all the loan installments:
i)Ensures a good record of the repayment schedules of all his/her clients;
j)Makes regular site visits to remind clients of their repayments and to check their business evolution;
k)Ensures that clients reimburse their loans on time and for the exact amount;
l)Follows-up immediately with any client not fulfilling his obligations and charge them penalties

Job Requirement:

a)Minimum High School diploma
b)Minimum two (2) years working experience (prior microfinance experience highly preferable), conducting research, working for a bank, small business or company,
c)Fluent in Dari; English welcome but not essential
d)Computer skills in Word and/or Excel
e)Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
f)Able to work independently and in a group, willing to take initiative, and energetic;
g)Able to learn quickly.
