FIA provides entrepreneurs, businesses and community groups with business planning, financial instruction and career training opportunities in order to maximize their economic, social and entrepreneurial potential. FIA is also a facilitating partner under the National Solidarity Program, which provides capacity building, infrastructure improvements and technical expertise to communities throughout Afghanistan. In addition, FIA is engaged in agricultural extension training in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture, Information and Livestock, engaging with farming communities on new agricultural methods, tools and techniques.
Local facilitator officer for gender issues among cooperatives
Duties & Responsibilities:
Identify among women groups and cooperatives the technical and organizational requirements necessary for success as horticultural growers.
Find opportunities for cooperatives and womenâ€™s groups within MAIL.
Assist in the design and coordinate the implementation of training modules.
Maintain a database of information on genderâ€“specific tools and resources.
Make presentations on gender unit functions and other topics to relevant MAIL units or departments and external agencies.
Administrative support to the Chief Technical Advisor.
Develop and oversee systems for ensuring the efficiency and quality promotion of women owned and operated cooperatives supported by the DACD and MAIL.
Bachelorâ€™s Degree. Agriculture or biology university degrees is a plus for this position
English communication skills are essential. Proven abilities in writing reports and project related documents
Two to four years of experience in programming within a development and management of cooperatives.
Two to four years of experience providing technical and administrative support to donor base projects.
Understanding of gender issues in international development and/or cooperatives.
Excellent organizational skills.
Familiarity with developing and monitoring projects.
Excellent interpersonal/ team-building skills.
Attention to detail and follow-through on tasks.
Familiarity with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Compensation: U$600 - $1,000 based on experience and skills.
