The Logistics Assistant – Inventory will work under the direct supervision of the Logistics Coordinators and Deputy Logistics Manager. The Logistics Assistant – Inventory will perform the following principal functions relating to project support but are not limited to:
Physical Inventory Responsibilities:
• General understanding of Section 5, Point 5.2 5.6.4,and 5.7 of the AIRP Policies and Procedures,
• Conduct joint physical inventory, ensure accuracy of physical notes, and secure all related documents,
• Clearly identify and investigate items identified as “Not Located†or “Pending Reconciliation†and communicate Logistics Coordinator,
• Assist Physical Inventory Coordinator with updating Master based off of field inventory findings,
Inventory Data Responsibilities:
• General understanding of Section 5 – Inventory Management, of the AIRP Policies and Procedures,
• Assist Physical Inventory Coordinator with field inventories and updating Master based off of field inventory findings,
• Assist in reconciling physical inventory findings with financial data and master inventory,
Document Responsibilities:
• Complete Transfer, LDD, or Issuance Form and tracking log in absence of responsible staff member,
• Request Document Backstop Coordinator to complete forms in absence.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Complete other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
• Good knowledge of Excel and/or Access software applications
• 2 years experience in accounting, auditing, or logistics procedures
• Ability to take direction from supervisors and be independent
• Ability to work well under pressure
• College level course work in Logistics, Operations, Accounting, or Business Administration
Desirable Qualifications:
• Expert knowledge of Excel and/or Access software applications
• 5 years experience with USAID inventory, or logistics procedures
• Knowledge of FAR
• Bachelor degree in Logistics, Operations, Accounting, or Business Administration
.
Experience:
• 1-3 years of relevant logistics, accounting, or auditing experience is required
Language Requirements:
• Fluent in both written and spoken English, with the ability to draft substantive correspondence
Abilities and Skills:
• Ability to work in a team, ability to work under pressure to meet the deadlines and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
