Job Summary

Perform and ensure all necessary servicing, repair, maintenance works, and implementation of new installations of MSF IT and Telecommunications plans in the project, according to the preventive maintenance schedule, the project planning, and MSF protocols and guidelines in medical and non-medical MSF structures.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Perform all necessary repairs, and maintenance according to his/her specialization (i.e. HF and VHF installations, IT networks, laptops and desktops, local networks, etc.) 

- Perform any needed tests after any repair or maintenance in order to ensure the functionality and safety of the installations. 

- Assure the networks security management according to MSF policy 

- Work in collaboration with other specialized technicians and workers, if necessary 

- Ensure the adequate stocks of consumables and materials for minor repairs and manage those stocks in coordination with his supervisor; ensure the replenishment of the IT and Telecom consumable stock on a monthly basis 

- Keep his dedicated working area clean and tidy and look after all equipment and tools provided 

- Ensure the completion of all record sheets and books related to IT and Telecom maintenance 

- Generate the necessary reports before and after any repair or required maintenance 

- Responsible for the performance of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedule of all Telecom and IT equipment 

- Develop and update the maintenance plan for all the ICT and Telecom equipment and installations 

- Ensure the cleaning of computer and telecommunications equipment including training of the users for proper maintenance 

- Ensure the implementation of the communications guidelines 

- Ensure the backup and updating of the desktops/laptops, the virus definition, and engine updates of anti-virus software 

- Support the correct use of computers, radio, and phones by briefing and training MSF staff regarding the correct use and basic maintenance of all types of IT and Telecom installations 

- Follow up the repair of all occurring software and hardware problems in coordination with the Mission ICT Referent in accordance with mission protocols and guidelines 

- Follow up the repair of occurring Telecom problems in coordination with the Mission ICT Referent in accordance with mission protocols and guidelines 

- Assist the logistics department with any relative work required for his respective technical family 

- Give regular feedback to the line manager and report directly any issue or incident 

- In order to ensure the coverage of the human resources needs and maintain high standards of quality, organize and coordinate the activities of the team supervised (week’s schedule, annual leave, absences, etc.), communicate with the HR Admin department all relevant information in due time, evaluate performance, define and ensure the needs for training 

- Perform hands-on tasks as part of the team whenever required or needed in order to optimize the resources and to contribute with his/her knowledge and experience 


Job Requirements

Education

    - High school diploma (12th class) essential 

- Technical diploma in IT/Telecommunication essential 

- University degree in IT/Telecommunication is desirable 


Experience

- Experience in a similar position essential 


Languages

- Dari/Pashtu: oral and written essential 

- English: oral and written essential


Working hours

FULL TIME / SCHEDULE: 176 HOURS PER MONTH - DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE POSITION THE CANDIDATE MUST BE WILLING AND CAPABLE OF SOMETIMES WORKING OUTSIDE REGULAR OFFICE HOURS

SALARY WILL BE PAID ACCORDING TO THE MSF SALARY GRID
