Welthungerhilfe it is one of Germany's biggest non-governmental relief organizations. Non-profit making, politically independent and non-denominational, the organization is run by a Supervisory Board of honorary members under the patronage of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its work is funded by private donations and public grants. Welthungerhilfe is working since the 1980’s continuously in Afghanistan and opened the first offices in 1992. Since this time Welthungerhilfe has implemented some 165 project in Afghanistan. Main fields of Welthungerhilfe intervention in Afghanistan are emergency relief, food and nutrition security, rural and regional development and water and sanitation.
· Monitor the field activities through WHH monitoring and evaluation tools
· Assist in developing operational monitoring tools (questionnaires, databases, interview and survey forms, etc.) with the Monitoring Officer.

· Provide timely inputs for new initiatives and improvements on M&E issues to the management team
· Participate in the project’s quality implementation, particularly through identifying weaknesses and strengths in WHH M&E issues and report to the management team
· Participate in the evaluation of the project’s results and achievements
· Actively collaborate with the Database Entry Officer and provide inputs to develop databases on project activities and assist in updating regularly the database according to the project requirements
· Actively participate in project implementation and coordination meetings
· Support short-term M&E evaluators and experts as required
· Assist in developing technical concepts, guidelines, manuals, procedures, concept papers on M&E issues upon request of the management team
· Provide inputs to project reports and publications upon request of the management team
· Prepare the weekly/monthly schedule of monitoring and evaluation related activities
· Provide M&E verbal and written reports on a weekly basis to the management team
· Assist in maintaining a clear and transparent filing system
· Aim to continuously develop personal and organizational expertise on M&E issues (using training, distance study, experience sharing with partners, etc.)
· Support research and study activities on M&E related issues
· Perform other tasks as required.
· University degree in Social Sciences or any other relevant field proffered
· At least 2 – 3 years of working experience in a similar position in a national or international NGO.
· Excellent understanding of local context needs and challenges of the local communities.
· Strong communicator with gravitas and the ability to articulate complex subjects in “lay-man” terms in the local context;
· Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
· Working knowledge of English, strong knowledge of local languages.
· Ability to meet deadlines and cope with pressing timelines; willingness to work overtime if needed;
· Ability to work and be comfortable in complex situations with incomplete information;
