Job Summary:

The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will contribute to the design, implementation and management of monitoring and evaluation activities supporting ASI in the East.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The M and E Specialist will perform the following functions but not limited to:
•Assists the M and E Manager in the design of an M and E database in which to organize baseline and subsequent data sets gathered for ASI performance monitoring and evaluation
•Assist in the design of practical tools and methodologies to assemble data required on a recurrent basis to track program performance
•Conduct periodic and systematic data collection and analysis of ASI results indicators, in conjunction with relevant ASI staff
•Assist with the preparation of reports on progress on results indicators and assist staff in preparation of other program reports, as needed
•Undertake field visits to project sites as needed
•Use GPS on project sites
•Take photos of project sites for use in project reports
•Assist with program evaluation, as appropriate
•Review schedules and ensure that monitoring visits occur on a regular and frequent basis
•Draft field site visit formats, questionnaires, and other data collection tools that will be used for reporting data conduct audits of the monitoring data in the Activity Database, and ensure accuracy of information on reporting requirements\
•Other duties as assigned by the M and E Manager

Job Requirement:

• University degree in related field or relevant experience.

• One to two years experience working in a similar position for an NGO or an international organization is preferred. USAID funded project experience is a clear plus. Must have willingness to travel to DAI Afghanistan field offices on DAI business. Must also have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. In addition, must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.
